Our new Rainrunner fabric has a C6 DWR finish for high-performing, long-lasting water repellency and faster dry times. C6 DWR is made from short-chain PFC's (perfluorinated chemicals) that, while better than long-chain PFC's, we recognize are not environmentally ideal. We are actively testing and looking for an alternative to C6 DWR finishing that will not compromise on the performance of our Rainrunner fabric as we transition to more PFC-free bio-based water repellent finishes.

Our Rainrunner fabric is bluesign® certified meaning it is free from harmful chemicals and is fabricated in a way that meets a high environmental standard.

Good...with a bit more work could be great

I'm a recent customer...

First off it's very waterproof, have worn in heavy rain and was all good.

You don't feel like you're overheating in it when walking for sure, so compared to others I've got it is pretty breathable (I'll know if it's as good as they say when I play tennis in it).

Design wise the hood is pretty poor, no adjusters and the fit isn't great. It's ok if you wear a cap with it as that seems to keep it down but otherwise wind would blow it around loads.

The cuffs are very wide and could do with adjusters also. Left side arm cuff was wider than right side (about 5mm) and as it's wide to start with the left one goes partially over my hand which is a bit annoying. It's not so bad as I'm thinking about returning it, just it's a minor thing that could be better.

So far, so good

The jacket is seriously light and well-ventilated. I haven’t yet used it in anything other than a light drizzle but am hopeful it will keep me dry in heavier weather. I'm not sure how it will do in really cold weather but reckon on layering underneath for warmth. The burnt orange colour is great and the construction of the jacket seems to be top-notch. It's reasonably close fitting, doesn't flap around, and moves well when running. It's also not horribly noisy. I haven't used the pockets when running but for casual use, they're very useful. On the basis of my experience so far, I'd recommend it.

Great Rain Jacket for Mountain Adventures

When there is a chance of rain, I simply throw this rain jacket in my pack or tie it around my weight. It is very light and has amazing ventilation. I was especially impressed by the waterproof pockets. I have used this in the biggest downpours and stay dry underneath every time. I highly recommend this jacket. It is an amazing combination of lightweight, ventilated, and even has pockets. It has all the features of much more expensive rain jackets and performs as well or better.

Must have for mountain runners

I’ve really been enjoying this jacket in the varying conditions of spring in Montana. It protects from rain, snow, and hail while also keeping me from getting too hot and clammy underneath due to the vents in the front and back. It’s also very packable so I can easily stow it in my vest when conditions change.
